How do I get a copy of a police report?
Police reports are obtained in one of two ways. You can either come to the Records Room at Headquarters between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. or request a copy through the mail. When can I get my fingerprints taken for immigration, employment, permits, etc.?
Fingerprints are done for residents of Somerville on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. There is no charge for this service. We no longer fingerprint for immigration purposes. There are specific locations throughout the State of NJ that provide that service.
Where do I pay for a summons?
You can pay for a motor vehicle summons at the Somerville Violations Bureau, which is located at 29 Somerset St., Somerville. The office is located across from the Borough Hall. Office hours are Monday thru Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Where is Municipal Court held?
Municipal Court is temporarily being held at the Raritan Municipal Building, 22 First Street, in Raritan. Court is in session on Thursday evenings starting at 7:00 p.m.
How do I obtain a Handicapped Parking Permit?
Temporary Handicapped Parking Permits are obtained by going to the Police Department where you reside. You are given an application which is filled out on one side by you and the other side by your doctor. The application is then returned to the department with a $4.00 fee. Once the application is approved by the Chief of Police, it is good for a period of 6 months and can be renewed once. Permanent Handicapped Parking Permits or License Plates are obtained through the Division of Motor Vehicles.
